Nothing.
Unfortunately, there is nothing Trulia or any of us agents who participate by answering questions can do to help, but you can employ measures of "self help."

Here are a couple of suggestions, though not fool-proof for an experienced scammer:

If the person claims to be an agent, get their name (and that of their company) and verify the information with the Florida department of real estate.

If the person claims to be an owner, ask their name and how long they've owned the property - verifying through county tax records.

Best yet? Contact a local agent (of your own) to help you avoid scams altogether. You can use the agent tab at the top of the page or ask for a referral from family and friends.

You are wise to be concerned! Good luck!
