MLS data will include the cost of the land. Without the land figure as low as $75 per sq ft for a fairly basic house without many corners. From there it's up and up, depending on what you want. $150 to $200 per sq ft should get you a pretty nice house. ... more

Actually 2011 was the bottom of the market. January 2011 is generally considered the bottom in Orlando. Prices have not crept close to 2011 levels, they are a LOT higher than 2011 levels. It's not uncommon for condos to be three times their 2011 price and for houses to be double what you could get them for 5 years ago. But put that in perspective. Condos are still cheaper than they were in 2007 and many, if not most, will never get back to those levels. Some houses have gotten back to 2007, but not all that many. ... more

Whoever told you this doens't know what their talking about. Why would you take real estate advice from a siding contractor to start? Wood will rot over time, that's all that can happen and it always does. Hardiboard is concrete, it doesn't rot, is impervious to insects and is a great siding material. If you're trying to match it to the wood, this is likely a mistake as it's extremly unlikely to match. Speak to a local Realtor and ask their thouhts. ... more

Consult with your REALTOR who assisted in the purchase, to refer you to the folks they use for exactly this purpose. It is not uncommon for a buyer to need lodging while their new home is being vacated or prepared for occupancy.

You next best resource is to look for a 'sharing' participant using those online resources. These citizens may be more flexible.

I agree with Abraham, get a title company to do a title search. I almost got on that business of buying property on action but there is a huge risk of make the wrong purchase and lost thousands to hundreds of thousands if you don't know exactly what you are doing. If you already have experience with that kind of purchase good for you and a title company should be able to do a title search so you know what you will be responsible for paying to get a clean title.
