If you have made an offer............was it through an agent? They probably have the best answer for you. Some banks are very cooperative and 3 months or less you can close.....some banks take so long that an agent can have several offers in succession as a fed up buyer walks away....Other banks let their unsuspecting homeowners think they are working on a short sale while in reality the bank is "dual tracking" That means they have the wheels rolling to foreclose at the same time the short sale is in progress. If a financial decision is made showing the bank will make out better by foreclosing, they will. The buyer who has been waiting all this time missed out on better deals while waiting out the process. WHERE you are buying is another consideration. Was it in a PUD that has most of their inventory previously sold for twice what they are selling for now? If that is the case the subdivision will go through the scraggly lawn and empty house phase. As new buyers come back in they are usually so happy they bought in at the bottom of the $.

Good luck

The old adage was don't wait to buy real estate, buy real estate and wait.. Wait for it to increase in value. It always comes back around............what else is either rent or own. The real estate prices are ticking up a bit, and days on the market has been dropping some as well.
Interest rates are great. Short sales are in abundance. Pick a company that has roots in the area and community you want to live in. Atkins Realty of Lake County has been in business since 1977 in downtown Mount Dora. We service all of Lake county and some agents like myself have sales in the Apopka and Orlando in Orange county as well. Should you wait? I own 14 residential properties. My home on Lake Dora and 13 rentals. I will continue to invest in real estate as I have since 1976 when I obtained my sales license in Mass. I am a former Florida Mortgage Broker and Appraiser

I enjoy the hunt .....tell me what you want and lets get to work!

Hi Krystal,

A popular trend in our area is purchasing a home for future retirement.

Then renting that home out as a vacation rental.

Also, you can purchase a home and rent it out until you are ready to re-locate here.

Hope that helps,
