Normaly a short sale can stay in your credit for a while but you will be able to purchase a property between 18 months to 2 years.The foreclosure can stay in your credit up to Five or seven years and if you have the second morgage the lender can demand the money up to few years.I always advise my clients to do short sale not foreclosure.If you need more details,e mail me at .good luck ... more
