answered:
Real estate agents are not allowed to comment on a variety of topics. The Fair Housing Act restricts the information that can be provided by a real estate agent.

Off Limit Topics Include:
• Crime Statistic (including questions about whether a neighborhood is good or bad or safe)
• Demographics
• Environmental Concerns
• Household Income
• Religion
• Schools (including questions about how good or bad the school is)

Determining to the answers to questions on any of the topics listed above is something that you would need to do on your own. It is up to the individual to make their own determination about a specific area. If a real estate agent were to comment on such a thing, it could be steering which is a prohibited act.

Some websites to try include:

Here is the information as posted by MARTA, hope it is helpful.

The closest Marta get to Union City is about 1 1/2 mile south from Jonesboro Rd and Oakley Industrial Blvd in Union City and this will be bus #189 Old National Hwy leaving from College Park Station, getting off at Jonesboro Rd and Oakley Industrial Blvd, you're 1 1/2 southeast from 7215 Toccoa Circle.

Thank you for your question about foreclosure properties. The best source for Foreclosure numbers is RealtyTrac because they track Notices of Default, which means they know exactly how many homes were foreclosed. No one else can give you an accurate number because banks hold properties off the market for various business reasons. RealtyTrac is not the best resource for Foreclosure Listings because they list many properties that may never come on the market but they are the best resource for information. ... more

Bebe22,

Please see the link below, paying special attention the programs on the left side to the screen that can be used with conventional, FHA and VA mortgages. You'll find several down payment assistance programs available for purchases of owner-occupied homes in South Fulton and all over the metro area.

In South Fulton, please review the

-- Federal Down Payment Assistance Program
-- Metro Atlanta Down Payment Assistance Program (GA Dream)

There's also a Fulton County NSP program available, but I'd prefer to discuss that one with you.

If you are NOT working with an agent, please call so that we can discuss the program that best fits your needs.

Thanks

Actually if you can provide acceptable evidence of your move up you may be able to qualify for an FHA loan anyway. There are caveats here that I would rather not train my competitors in through an open network but if you give me a call we can explore. We're not a bank and we're not a broker. We are a large, direct lender and my department specializes in Georgia FHA home loans.
