Since when is kindergarten a "trying time". They are there to learn the basics of socializing, ABCs, 123s and basic reading. Kindergarten is the bedrock for the rest of the ir schooling. They learn how to interact and get along with a group of other children while paying attention to the teachers.
Why do they need field trips? They are in a classroom to learn the foundations for the next 12 years of their education.
All five of our kids looked forward to simply going to school for kindergarten. It doesn't need to be all bells and whistles.
If you want you child to venture out to the aquarium or zoo perhaps you should take them yourself?
