I am a bit upset because my realtor referred me to my lender. When I was approved my lender emailed my realtor my preapproval letter and informed him that I was pre approved and to move forward with locating a property (this I thought was my duty as I could have been considering another agent or what ever), but that's not the worst, the lender told my realtor what my reserve was. Now that was crossing the line.

I am now looking for a new realtor and lender as I am sure this is not ethical practices. I will NOT be moving forward with these 2.

Review your contract to determine the legality or just speak directly with your agent asking the question you've posted here. Many contracts contain language allowing information regarding the Buyers loan to be shared with the Seller's Agent who when working with the Seller is an "extension" of the Seller.

Don't worry...
Your private information (specific income, credit score, date of birth, social security number, etc) is usually not shared with anyone! It is confidential between you and your lender. A typical conversation is...yes, they have sufficient income, yes, they have acceptable credit, yes, they have the resources for the down payment. That's it!

Good luck and do speak with your agent!

It i common that a listing agent will want this. The buyer agent should have gone over what to expect. You should speak to them about your feelings.

The walk to the Vienna Metro from that address is 1.5 miles. If you or your girlfriend were able to do 1.5 miles in 10-15 minutes, you must have been running!
