It is hard to answer this question without seeing the kitchen. What condition is the kitchen in? Are drawers non-functioning? Are cabinets in need of major repair? Hw old are the appliances? How large is the kitchen? In some cases when a kitchen is small, it may be wise to make some changes. There are too many things to consider. If the kitchen is fairly large, depending on the changes you make, you may not be able to get all of your money back. Generally, I advise folks to drop the price rather than spend the money. However, here is a cheap fix, one which may be worthwhile: put on new handles, perhaps new doors. If the cabinets are painted, repaint them. Choose your colors well, you want to suit as many people as possible, so nothing way out there for colors.
