Only if the person lived in your home for over 30 days.If a person live in a property for longer than 30 days they have squatters rights and u will have to.

speaking not as a realtor, but as a present occupant, it depends on what your buying the house for. Being a home owner, especially one that is concerned about the appearance and up-keep of their property is essential to making a great neighborhood. If your looking to find out if a neighborhood is a good one or not, one of the indicators is the ratio of renters to buyers. that being said, hempstead lacks homeowners. If you have children, its not an ideal neighborhood to move into, the school district isn't up to par. Knowing many graduates, it takes a lot to build yourself up after getting your diploma from there. But if you are single or a retiring couple, some of the neighborhoods are perfect for downgrading in. Like it has been said, check with the local police for crime activity. there are also phone applications that can tell you the goings-on in a particular area at any given moment. the positives of the area are that transport is everywhere! taxis encircle private neighborhoods, buses stop a block away, and the train station to Penn Station is but a 3 minute bus ride. There are tons of mom & pop places with great prices and cuisine from all sorts of cultures. its also located close to the enormous Roosevelt Field mall, Hofstra university and Nassau Colliseum. And, as a woman, you cannot beat the prices for getting your hair or nails done! Check out hempstead on yelp and you'lll be overwhelmed by the positive responses to the local shops. ... more

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
