I would say that's a LONG commute for most. A lot of people who work in the city and need to make that drive end up living in Fairfield or New Haven Counties. (Fairfield being ideal) It is a long drive in itself but with the traffic, it would double your commute time for sure. I am a local Realtor and work primarily in Fairfield County. Most clients will go as far as Shelton, CT which is the "end of the line" of Fairfield County. They also tend to be as close as possible to the highway. The chapter 7 bankruptcy will stay on your credit report for 2 years after you discharge, the only way you can apply for an exception would be if there was an extenuating circumstance that drove you into bankruptcy, and in this rare case FHA may cut you a break. Hard money is lender and charging anywhere from 12-18% with 35% down and trust me that road it no walk in the park.
You may be better off getting into a two year rental that is affordable to you and weather out the storm.

No one should expect anything but random numbers from such sources.
But, you already knew that.
Yet, here you are.
If you want real numbers, you need access to a source of reliable data.
You won't find reliable data on the book shelves labeled FICTION and attempting to reconcile the two will result in looking for Gate 9 3/4.
