This depends on how the assessor will value the "outbuilding"
FHA has very strict guidelines when it comes to their appraisal process.

We are having the same problem. We are putting down more than required, have great credit, no debt, and have loan approval. We are being told there is a "recording problem with the title". Since there needed to be a judgement of foreclosure and Fannie Mae placed the property with a broker in order to sell it, what the he'll is going on? We are a week from the date Fannie Mae has chosen to close and have heard nothing. I am sorry we ever got into this. I would strongly caution anyone actually wanting to purchase a residence to avoid short sales and foreclosures. I totally get why the real estate market is as screwed as it is. ... more
