There are 4 reasons for high test scores according to research done by teachers in Los Gatos Unified School District in 2009. They are: 1. Parents with a PhD., Masters Degree or a Bachelors Degree, 2. Student's race - asian and white students score the highest, latino students score the lowest ( remember this is just data, I am not racist) 3. socio-economic factors which means if the student grows up in a home that has money, they preform better on the state tests, and lastly 4. Students who's parents put education, homework and reading first at home at a young age (3-5 years old).
I know personally that the teachers at Westmont are highly qualified and that most have Masters degrees in their teaching subject. Rotating teachers is the most ignorant comment I have ever read on the internet. It is impossible to rotate teachers every 3 years. Please read up on teacher tenure and the teacher's union. Plus, how can a teacher improve if you want them out in 3 years? It makes no sense. No principal can hire a teacher unless they posses the proper credential for which subject they teach. The county of santa clara and the state of California won't let them!
Please do some research on the internet or go into Westmont High School and ask to educate yourself.
