Easton Elementary School first opened in 1957. In 1958 it closed because of integration issues, and many of us from the Easton Community were bused back to Union Cross School. In 1959 it opened again to everyone. I attended the first classes at Easton Elem, then the first classes at Waughtown Jr. High,in 1960, which had a name change in 1962 but I don't remember the name. ... more

My daughter has attended both Sedge Garden and Union Cross Elementary schools. Based on my experience, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about both. Union Cross does have a S.M.O.D (Standard Mode of Dress) dress code Monday-Thursday and the children can wear what they like on Fridays. ... more

http://intranet.wsfcs.k12.nc.us/streetfile.nsf

this is the link where you can enter an address and pull up what schools are correct for the address. there is also an email so if you don't have the exact address you can email the apartment name and they get back to you quickly. why an apartment instead of buying a home?

We moved here last August from SW Florida. We chose a one-year lease on an apartment, and I am thankful we did not buy a home. We are planning on moving to possibly the Siler City or Burlington area. My son was assigned to a middle school that we were warned was not a good school, but we were not allowed to transfer him to the other middle school in our school zone. My son said there are now 5 police officers assigned to his school, because of the problems there. At the beginning of the year, someone was shot in our apartment complex. That is way to close for comfort for me! If it weren't for that and the attitudes my son has to put up with in school, it would be a nice area. But, we prefer to live outside of city limits, where it's a little quieter, and in some cases the people are a little nicer to each other. ... more

Hello,

I know that Forsyth Technical Community College offers an English as a Second Language course but I do not know if they are qualified to teach from Arabic. The website is http://www.forsythtech.edu/courses/continuing-ed/basic-skills/english-as-a-second-language/english-literacy-esl

There is a school in Winston-Salem which teaches Arabic as well as English as a Second Language. Try this website at http://www.carolinaschooloflanguages.com/CSL3/About%20Us.html

Best of luck to you!

Jeremy,
This is a Magnet school for Forsyth County. So in the K-12th grade programs they do not have flying lessons. However many community colleges do offer flight lessons. They are somewhat expensive ranging anywhere from $40 an hour and up depending on where your lessons are flying out of. I have some hours under my belt. You can also check with some of the local flying schools around based out of the local airports. The Career Center may be able to steer you in the right direction but if you are just needing some hours I would investigate the actual flying schools.

Hope this helps,

Our recommendation is to be in touch with the school to find out the best means by which to be in touch with your daughter's teachers. (336)771-4500
