Antioch is decently cheap. Compared to San Francisco - it's free. Compared to Sacramento - it's a bit more expensive. Like all cities there is a range of prices. Similar to Sacramento there is a lot of variety. You can find find rentals for very low - $800/mo and lower. You can also find some that are $4000/month so it all depends on what you are looking for.

House prices vary as well. Around $100k will get you a house near A-street or you can spend anywhere from $200,000 to $400,000 for a house in a more desirable area. Top notch houses are of course closer to $600k-$1mil.

The commute sucks if you have to leave in the early morning. Traffic is just awful that time of day. Same thing around 5 o'clock. Rush hour is bad here because of the 2 lane highway. Though they are expanding it so a year or so from now it won't be as much of a problem.

If you want to get serious about looking for a place I'd be happy to help. 925-752-3969.

Your next step is to have your broker contact the listing agent's broker. If you still can't get a response you need to take it up with your local Board.

Yes give me a call, and we will look up the property and see who owns it.

There have been a lot of scams like this. The take your cash and they are gone. I will not charge you for the service.

You should consider the fact that you may be able to buy a house for less than you can rent one.

If that "listing" is still on Trulia, please flag it.

So many scammers out there who hijack legitimate listings and try to pass them off on their own.

Several ways you can tell if it's legit or not...

Google the address --- is it showing up as for sale?
Drive by the property --- if there's a for sale sign, contact the realtor whose name is on the sign
Make appointment to meet the poster at the property itself. If poster is out of country, surely there must be someone he can entrust to take care of business?

By no means should you complete a formal application form with personal information about yourself before you are assured that this is a legitimate listing

Finally, don't wire money via Western Union (which seems to be favored by the scammers)....

If you are looking to rent, your best bet is to work with Property Management Companies serving Antioch --- google them, and talk with at least 2-3 agents who can help you.

Good luck.
