Best to hire your own buyer's/tenant's agent. You are working with a seller's/landord's agent who will look after seller's benefit.

You need to work with a realtor because real estate websites like Trulia, Zillow, etc. focus on residential listings - not listings that require large acreage, farms, horse stables, commercial, etc. Those listings do appear on Trulia and Zillow but there is no separate search filters for them so it makes it difficult for buyers like you to search specifically for these properties.

Realtors own the MLS system and have far more search filters to define specific criteria for clients.

There are multiple senior living facilities all over Houston. There are a few more questions to answer before I could give you a good recommendation. What part of town do you want to live in? Do you have family that you'd like to stay near? Will you need any accommodations or assistance besides wheelchair access? Will you need medication reminders or help with meals? Will you need someone to assist you back and forth from the wheelchair? Are onsite hair salons, community activities, or transportation assistance important to you? Or, are you completely independent and just need a wheelchair friendly apartment? Depending on your current and projected needs, there are lots of options out there! ... more
