The cost to replace the floor, remodel the kitchen and bathrooms, and replace/update the doors and windows depends on a number of variables. First is your homes location and the labor rate in that location. The same worker may make $15 an hour in some areas of the US and $50 an hour in others.. a big difference! Also important is the materials you choose - kitchen cabinets can be $200 or $500 per cabinets. windows can be $200 or $600 for the same size of window. Finally the size of your bathroom and kitchen impact the price - bigger rooms mean more flooring, cabinets and countertops. Santa Barbara is a high end area. If you have a 1965 pool it does make sense for you to invest about
$12k to $15k to resurface the pool. A pool in your Zip Code adds to the value of your home when coupled with views.

Trust you are bringing up your 1951 home to current trends.
