Timeshares need to be looked up as a purchase and not an investment. Regardless of how timeshares are presented, they don't perform as well as a house or stock investment. If you look around the resale market for timeshares on websites like EBay, Redweek, or TUGBBS will find that you can buy a timeshare for far less money than what the first owner purchased it for ... more

This listing was listed 180 days ago. The pictures are from the penthouse that was asking 9k a month and no longer available. Currently this building has a two bed for $4595 . The layout is different and the second bedroom is basically a home office. There is a large two bed for $6500. The pictures in this add are not real and misrepresent what was really available at the time. There is no parking in this building but there is a monthly lot, right around the corner. ... more

This is not what these units look like at all. This building on west 64tj is run down and disgusting.. This is an example of another lazy broker putting up fake pictures for you to call. Studios in 254 west 64th are 200sqft and are crap. any studio with good size and renovation in the UWS (70-80's) will cast you $1850 and up. ... more

Haley, why not contact the listing agent directly? Her contact info is on the link you yourself provided. Better get it in gear now or this apt will be long gone in no time. Good luck.

Actually the building is a legitimate rental building. However the "agent" in NJ that posted listing is a website called They are not the leasing office, landlord or exclusive listing agent.

When an apartment is advertised on a website without an address BEWARE!

Legitimate listing brokers give the address because they want consumers to find the building so they can rent the apartment. Those that hide the address do not have the exclusive right to rent the apartment. They are advertising an open listing.

One of the pictures in the listing has the address of the building on the awning. There is a real convertible 3 BR available for rent $3150.There is also a 2 BR available for rent for $2700.

The best way to find a rental apartment in Manhattan is to hire a legitimate local real estate broker. There will be a broker fee. The only way to avoid a broker fee is to contact managing agents, landlords and leasing offices on your own.

Contact me for Manhattan rental information.

Joseph Hastings answered:
First thing is, you're not going to be able to reserve anything. It seems like a scam because there is just no way to get this kind of price on Manhattan island. If you follow the link, go to the bottom of the page, you'll get a contact phone number to call.

Be Aware this is the height of the New York rental season. Nobody holds apartments and as for your statement about being cheated, I have no idea of what you're talking about. If this rental is for real, you can be sure it will be long gone before August 19th. My best suggestion is you contact a broker to help you in your search. I assure you, it will be much easier.

Most landlords in NYC don't give out floorplans on rentals - when they do release them, they will be in the listing. If the listing does not mention a number of bedrooms, you can expect it to be a studio. ... more

This appears to be some sort of scam.
1. There is no actual address.
2. It is too cheap to be true.
3. The link states a different location than it is advertised to be.

I would suggest you work with a reputable agent of an established real estate firm to help you with your rental needs. There will be a fee, but you will be taken to legitimate current rentals from the agent database. ... more
