This house is sold and according to the MLS listing information the square footage was listed as 4000.

If you are looking for a home to buy, as I see you are from out of state, please feel free to contact us (if you do not already have an agent) and we will be happy to have one of our agents assist you. Often times when searching any of these type of websites, the data may not be up to date. Your best bet is to work with an agent who can search your criteria just for available listings and not those that are under contract or sold.

This listing is not necessarily a listing that is available or for sale. This site sometimes shows potential foreclosures and nontraditional foreclosure sales. There is a home in Homer Glen on this street in Homer Glen. The sale price is $269,900 and it is a foreclosure. There are homes in this area for the 150k range that are foreclosures. Taxes in Homer Glen are usually about 2.5-2.75% of the market value (not sales price) but market value of the home.

If you are looking for homes in this area, there is a lot to know. I would be happy to help. Please give me a call. The market right now is very tricky as a result of all the different players and all the different kinds of sales. Plus, looking on consumer sites like trulia you are going to spin your wheels a lot and not get a lot done.

Using a professional doesn't cost you anything, but will save you time, effort and money in the long run. I would be happy to help.

Now is a great time to buy in Homer Glen. There are short sales all over that are offering great deals. This home may be gone, but there are plenty of others out there. I would be happy to send you some of them. People are buying and interest rates won't stay at this rate forever. Word is they are going up. It is important to act now. Feel free to contact me.

There has been flexibility in Homer Glen. Past customers built a log home, on a non-subdivision lot,
off 143rd. It was good advise to contact the builiding department, to inquire about your specific
building dreams, and see if they can land in Homer Glen.

It is not a property tax cut but an additional exemption. You will automatically get the senior exemption, if you own the home and it is your primary residence. It will be on your next tax bill. It will add $2,500 to your $3,500 tax exemptions off your assessed value. In other words, you don't get $6,000 off your taxes, it reduces your value by approximately $36,000 to save you taxes.

The senior freeze is also available to you. This one you have to apply for every year and it freezes your home's assessment - not your taxes or tax rate. But it does help avoid some tax increases. You need to apply each year and provide proof of income, as there are some requirements. There is a deadline to apply each year. I see you are in Homer Glen, just go to the library and they have the forms. If not, go to the Homer Township office for the forms. Put it on your calendar - it is worth doing every year.

Homer Glen does have a wide variety of home styles. I have live there for 40+ years and can tell you that it is a suburban bedroom community. Because of the open space, and large tracts of available land with acreage, many people chose to build very very large homes. Then there are the many subdivisions that were built in the 70's. They are nice, but are older, so a lower price than the mini manions. Then there are the in-betweens. One thing you can say about Homer housing stock is that most of the homes are very nice and very well kept. The neighborhoods are extremely well kept. And mostly, housing stock is at a huge variety right now and great pricing. You can definately have your pick in any price range and get a great deal. If you need someone to help you navigate through this area, I would be happy to. Call me at 888-788-9544. I know quite a few very different areas that have multiple houses for sale at record pricing. ... more
