Hi Holly - depending on your price range, and what it is you are looking for in a home or neighborhood, you have lots of options in the KOP area. Depending on how much you like to spend time in your car, I would consider keeping the radius smaller than 15 miles (often people who are relocating to here are surprised to find that in this area, 15 miles does not equal 15 minutes, it could be an hour+ because of volume). :)
There are many factors to take into consideration...the best course of action would be to fine tune your goals for the possible move and start from there (I'd be happy to help you figure out some of the unknowns). Hope this helps. Good luck with the promotion!

I am looking for a professional moving company. I have tried all of the resources that I know to find a good company. In fact, I asked my mother who they used to move across country, and she told me. The last time we moved, I used that company, and we had a terrible experience. Who have you all used? Is it better to use a large corporation, or a local company?

Hi McKenya,

You should go to the courthouse and address that eviction judgement. If you didn't know it was on your credit report, chances are you haven't paid any portion of that judgement. Without that being satisfied, it will be tough to get you approved for a rental.

All the best,
Larry

In addition to being a realtor I too have had to relocate with our three children due to corporate moves.
Collegeville, Royersford, Upper Merion, there are several spots and even in Chester County a little further out you get a little bang for your buck.
Best advice is to do some serious investigating on the top schools in PA and the ones that are helpful.
Media, Swathmore DE county are also another great areas to be. I have a copy somewhere of the top 100 school districts if that helps.

Hi Colts,

Many variables go into your utility usage. Condition of windows, insulation, temperature you keep heated or cooled to, electric or gas, C/A.

You should ask another tenant in the building or if you can still contact the current tenant moving out, they can absolutely tell you what their average bills were during their tenancy.

Good luck with your move.

All the best,

Hi William-

I'm in the middle of searching for an apartment, so I've been all over the place. I have to say that Trulia has been really helpful in my search. I've found tons of listings through it. I expect that it could help you a lot. The only other site that comes to mind when searching for places is rentjungle.com. It's pretty similar to Trulia, but they have a few more listings but they do take you to other sites (kind of like google). I hope this helps! ... more

It is considered New Kensington although it has the Fishtown zipcode - 19125. The Fishtown Neighborhood Association boundries end at York St. Letterly is a little bit north of York St. We own a property on the 2500 block of E Boston St. Our tenant that lives there, to the best of our knowledge, enjoys it and has not had any complaints regarding crime, etc... We have helped numerous buyers purchase around there too, our good friend lives on the 2400 hundred block of Firth, and just helped someone settle on the 2400 block of Harold. Both of them are quite happy and content.
