There are some good answers here. "Good" depends on what is important to you. Find a good local Realtor that will a thorough Buyer Needs Analysis. A good Realtor will ask you all the right questions so you'll be comfortable that a Condo in Bowie is right for you. Good luck!

In that paticular development the recent sales are either short sales, or foreclosures and selling anywhere between $285,000 and $310,000. These are well worth it if you can find one that doesn't need a great deal of work put into it. It seems that they are selling quickly, as this is prime price range for first time home buyers and to get one which would include the tax credit.

My office is in Crofton, I had lived in Bowie for 15 years, Laurel prior to that, and now reside in Anne Arundel Co. I have lived in this area all my life and am very familiar with the market in Bowie.

If you choose to go this route, I would recommend a Realtor who has experience with short sales and foreclosures. I hold two Certification"s, one in Short Sales and one in Distressed Properties.

It's still moving, but make no mistake, the market is still very slow. Inventory is continuing to rise without a significant increase in sales, which is forcing the average time on market up at the same time that the average prices are falling.
