Don't always believe what others tell you. You need to take care of your finances yourself. These people will not bail you out if you get into financial trouble. Do yourself a huge favor. You need to learn that investing in properties requires you (the buyer) to have a source of income (paychecks, self employment, investment income, etc.) BEFORE you even think about investing in real estate. Therefore, you need to get a job first, make sure all your bills are paid in full and on time. Then save money for retirement. Then think about investing in real estate.

If it helps you feel better, my husband & I rented most of our adult life because housing in my market is very expensive and renting is actually cheaper than buying. However, I got bullied & humiliated for years by family because we never owned a house and our kids had to share a bedroom.
Well, fast forward to decades later. Our kids are now adults and guess what...we are now very rich while my family who bullied us for years is living on....welfare benefits. The icing on the cake...I refuse to help them even though I can because they deserve to be on welfare. I happen to know they spent their money foolishly, so it serves them right to be on welfare.

Hi I am looking to invest as well. So far someone has outbid me on a house that was 189,000.00. Nevertheless, I am learning that there are a lot of foundation issues in homes that I have visited. One realtor told me that land in Houston shifts causing homes to have foundation problems. Are there any suggestions on how to avoid homes like these? ... more
