It's all normal nowadays in Due Diligence period...this is the time I tell seller's to "hold your breath"...because buyers are allowed to any and all DD and ...just smile and let it happen...I say, until your inspection and appraisal are clear...you just don't know...truly I have not seen a lot fall through...but it is what it is...good luck ... more

Well Bruce, June Tassillo certainly did a good job of answering your question about the market here in Franklin, NC. It's true that we haven't felt the crunch quite as bad as some parts of the country, but it has slowed some. We are in a unique place in the mountains with over half of Macon County being part of the Nantahala National Forest. The natural beauty and recreation opportunities have kept this area near the top of the list for second homes and seasonal rentals. Yes...things have moderated, but nothing close to what has happened in other parts of the country. Our lower to mid-range homes are leading the market right now for sure and I'm seeing the higher priced homes having to stay on the market longer and reduce their prices to make them competitive. Nevertheless, most would consider our market here as "fairly strong". ... more
