First is what you buying is the neighborhood, if it is bad, it has very little remedy. A house you can always fix up in any way you like. What I do for my clients, is I walk and drive the neighborhood my clients are interested in to buy and if I find any trace of graffiti on walls, specially garage access from an alley. I tell my clients to get a local Police report, for the area and in most cases it is free.
