Hi Jandjriley64,
To estimate annual taxes for a property, you can go the Gilmer County Tax Assesors website at, then go to "Estimate Taxes" link on the left hand side. This should estimate what your taxes should be.

Hi Rebecca,

I agree with the others the only other difference maybe that earnest money might have to be in the form of certified funds. The loan application or pre-qualification process is basically the same no matter how you are planning to purchase a home.

Hope this helps you.

HI, wendiyss.

My business is located in Ellijay and we specialize in log home repair and restoration. I have adjusted many homes in the area and that could take care of the problem. Some times a log sticking out could cause some issues with the weather but other times it is just the character of the logs- every tree is different and has different grain patterns that age in different ways.

Please feel free to contact me at any time. I always give free estimates and on-site evaluations and I should be able to tell right away if it would cause a problem. I would be happy to come out whenever is convenient for you and your agent.

Check out some photos on my website for the last log home restoration project I completed.
