No. Not until the Fed raises rates and even then we might not see a decline. It will probably stay level for some time until the Fed keeps raising rates.

It may depend on many factors, such as:

1) what is the norm for that area. If there are 90% 3 bedroom homes, and someone expanded to an atypical 5 bedrooms, then the value offset may be more limited

2) The sq. ft. should be reasonable for the number of bedrooms. For example if there is a 1,400 sq. ft. 3 or even 4 bedroom home, some consumers would not like 1,400 sq. ft. living area for a 5 bedroom home.

3) A local appraiser could let you know the offset more accurately, especially if you are considering adding one.

Please let me know if you would like the contact info of a local appraiser.

The best way is to get to know a well connected REALTOR in your area. Factors affecting the market vary a lot depending on industry and business climate, (in your case - the drought might be a factor), recent sales, and the general economy. There will also be an election in that time frame.
A good REALTOR should know how any of these factors will affect your market.
No website - such as Trulia or Zillow will know what a Realtor knows.

I would definitely consider getting a more modern roof put on the home if you ended up getting one of the older ones. You don't want to be worried about that while you are living there. Plus it would add a ton of value for when you are trying to sell.

Well, trying to fine them isn't going to get you anywhere. If you want to find a long distance mover, I think you will have more success. Ask your neighbors if they have any recommendations. Call as many companies as you can to compare rates and features.

Well your thought process is truly inspiring, as owning a property under the current market scenario may not be an easy task. But there are couple of companies who are helping people to fulfil financial difficulties. Very quiet safe residential neighborhood at East foothill of MH. Homes maxed mid 700-800 during the peak year. Most residents work in SJ but prefer a small town atmosphere.

Schools: Jackson, Britton Middle, Live Oak High

Very friendly neighborhood. Many folks do not wish to drive up and down Jackson Oak Drive prefer this area or Jackson Meadow,

For me, it's not about size but quality- I think there is huge demand in the area for an upscale shopping and dining area-- everyone who moves into Almaden understands that what they gain in neighborhood and house size, they give up in ammenities like excellent restaurants and shopping.... I love living here- the people are wonderful and we feel very lucky to be a part of the community, but it would be nice to have options that our friends in Campbell and Los Gatos enjoy.... ... more
