You didn't say how many bedrooms and baths you'll be needing. The majority of home in Charlotte county under $100,000 are 2 bedroom, there are some homes that have 3 bedrooms. But you really don't get much of a home in that price range anymore and the odds are the home will need substantial amounts of work. ... more

It is great to hear that you just got a new job at Fawcett in Venice. Yes, Venice has many wonderful places for rent as well as to build or buy, however, it is a 30 to 45 minute commute to Fawcett from that location depending on the traffice. It is a personal choice on which ever location you should choose. Personally, I would chose an area closer to work. Some of the areas that I would consider first would be, Port Charlotte of course, Deep Creek, Punta Gorda, North Port, Bobcat Trail and others in an area closer to work especally with the price of gas now. But as I said to start with this is a highly personal choice and these are only my ideas. I will be more than happy to help you get settled in any area that you would lile, just contact me.

As a landlord most of my tennants have fair to bad credit. I pull credit on every application and if there is not any judgements for past due rents, I have them write me a letter explaining what happened. IF the credit is really bad, but i feel they are good people, I will ask for an extra months security.

Good Luck!
