i live in Valemar; sorry Victor i do not agree with you. My Parents lived in Valemar for almost 50 years and my Sisters lived in Lindamar for over 50 years.. the back of Lindamar IS sunny, however the whole front is not.. They actually get a LOT of fog. My Sister live on Crespi that whole time and some of the higher streets (not in the valley ) sit above the fog sometimes. The ultra back valley of Lindamar is way more sunny. Valemar is a lot like the back of Lindamar in that the fog frequently does not get past the first six blocks; i know because i live on the 7th block and it will frequently be 15 degrees warmer in our backyard than the front, because the fog mostly stops in the backyards of my neighbors right across the street! It is really amazing to see and i have frequently thought it was warm and started to leave the house with a sweater only to find that when i open the front door it is much cooler. It is an AMAZING micro climate. Valemar has a LOT more trees than most of Pacifica and because it is a valley the Fog does not come in all the way unless it is really foggy all over the Bay Area. Also it is VERY quiet here and (shockingly) you can see amazing amounts of Stars in Valemar because the hills block a lot of city lights out. Another thing that is surprizing is even though the S.F Airport is just over the hill ; we do not get fly overs unless the weather prevents them from using the regular flight patterns (which only happens once in a while). We have a lot of famlies and not a lot of traffic , because most of the streets here are only one or two blocks long. The other thing is Lindamar is more densely populated so everything is more ....i.e noise, traffic etc.. The reason why a lot of Homes are for sale is that we had a lot of Elders (including my Mother) that have passed on. So now is a VERY good time to invest (if you can in Valemar property). It is SO convienent here, we are 15 mins top to downtown S.F and eight blocks to the Beach and surounded by open space; which you can hike or ride a bike basicly all the way to Santa Cruz.. We still have Wildlife here which is so precious and the air is clean and we are in a very safe neighborhood as the Police are just down the street as well as one of the better schools in Pacifica . You get the best of both worlds here; country with city close by. We are also close to Bart Colma (about 5 min drive). i hope this helps you.. We have many new neighbors with wonderful small Children (about 8 now in just our 1 block).. The commute to Redwood City would entail catching the train which you can get by Bart.. i think it takes about 45 mins total. :) Hope you have good luck finding a place.
