I am a firm believer in visiting a neighborhood and trying to learn about it first hand. The neighborhood you are interested in is dominated by high density housing. You will probably find noticeable differences between each complex. Spend some time talking with people in the complex where you are thinking of moving to.

With the San Antonio Center going through major rebuilding and Mountain View being a hot spot for Google employees the area is sure to attract more competition for the available housing. More competition generally forces out any people resorting to crime.

If you look at the various web sites reporting crime statistics keep in mind higher density of people leads to a higher density of crimes which doesn't necessarily mean more crime per person.

Yeah, $1800 is too probably too low for a 2BR in MV. 1BR is definitely within budget.

I would recommend you take a drive on California street between Escuela Ave and Ortega Ave. It's apartment heaven :)...and may be a bit lower-priced than the apartments near downtown. ... more

Hi Vernee,

I'm afraid that Trulia does not include rental listings within our search results at this time, however if you ask about other resources, I'm sure that many of our community members will have good answers for you.

Chall, I also recommend that you access the link below and post your question where everyone can see it.

Best Wishes,
