I'm pretty sure the people who listed this place are from a different country. The are asking people to wire money. I have previous e mails if you would like me to send them to you.

As a broker I'm not allowed to opine on safety. As an owner I'll say that Wellshire has pretty much always been at the absolutel bottom of the crime data that DPD maintains. It''s a stable, centrally located neighborhood with no commercial traffic, buses, or major thoroughfares. It's adjacent to one of the oldest golf courses in the city (Wellshire). is part of one of the largest and most ranging bicycle paths in the world (Highline Canal), and 3070 S. Jackson is 2 blocks from Eisenhower Park and rec center. Shopping is 2 blocks away to the East across Colorado blvd. Here's a link to my web site ... more

Best bet is always checking with local law enforcement. Also many denver neighborhoods have monthly news letters with crime info in the neighborhood.

Why do you ask? Seems like a strange question to ask. Do you suspect something. All of the answers below are good. One of the best ways to find info is to find the most vocal neighbor and ask.

Thank you all for the fast replies!
In each Trulia house listing, there is a map that has multiple tabs showing local schools, comps, crimes, etc. The Crime maps are color-coded from green (no crime) to red (high crime). They also show individual crime locations. But many of the red areas don't show any individual crimes. There was a box for questions below the Crime map, so I asked. I meant the question more for Trulia than individual replies, but since the question appeared here, maybe someone can answer it for me. ... more

There are some comprehensive crime reports out both nationally and locally. I wrote a post about Denver rated in the top 10 in the nation for safety - This should answer some of your questions and clarify what some of the 'other' crimes are such as white collar crimes, etc. Let me know if you need help with anything else in the real estate world.
