Hi Krishna- When a property has a protected tenant, it means you cannot evict the tenant, unless they violate the lease terms in any way for the lifetime of the tenant under whose name the lease is. Please be very careful before bidding on such properties and have an attorney go through all details. Contact me and I will help you find well priced properties, with no cloud on them. ... more

It's not unheard of. In case a landlord or their agent, do want us to submit a security deposit check, we just submit a copy. Many tenant agent's ask their clients to submit application with a security and sometimes even rent cheques to show their seriousness. I have never had a listing agent or landlord demand such before accepting our application, not sure if the idea was of your own agent or the landlord's side. We have been demanded to submit security and rent cheques after being accepted. Me and my team never submit cheques to anyone until the lease has been signed. Only submit copies.

In future, always have a clear and open communication line with your agent. Hire an agent you trust and like working with. If you find it hard to digest what your agent tells you, ask for proof of the same. Honestly if you trust your agent and the communication channel is free and clear, it wouldn't even come to this.

Hi Chinonso22- sometimes, agents forget to take down old listings, if they were uploaded manually. That's why you need to work one one with a dedicated agent. Agents like me not only provide the current inventory, that are 100% active and real, but also coach you through the buying process. ... more
