I don't think it's fair either, but unfortunately they can say no. Why have Section 8 if you can't use it everywhere? The landlord is getting money no matter how you look at it.

I live in Governors Point I for 11 years, in those 11 years I have gone through hell and back and going thru hell for the second time with this place. The neighbors in the Hadleigh Ln building are just atrocious to live a normal life with, there is constant business minding to just being inconsiderate loud mouths all hours of the day and night. North Brunswick's finest speed through the complex flying around acting like they looking for someone, or parked right in the parking lots with those big flood lights sitting for hours.... and to top it off god forbid your parked in your parking spot that you pay for (association dues), here they come in those big SUV's with the FBI flood lights shining it in your car as you send a good night text or check your final emails before going in... nice! The association is the worst , there was an AC re wire project done abt 2 years ago, us tenants were mandated to pay 600 for this wiring project. and well they messed my wiring and my neighbors wiring by crossing them, my neighbor and I got our technicians to meet with the association technician to assess the issue and it came down to the wires being crossed . The only major wiring work was done by that project, because AC/Heating techs don't re wire that's for an electrician to do not them... the findings were brought to the associations attention and you know what they did they washed their hands of it and told us to prove it was from the wiring project. I was paying for two household electricity bills. Now not having heat, electric and gas or the past 6 months due to the high energy bill that got me shut off and I am living below prison standards. I have 2 little girls , where one of them has asthma, and I cannot get her treatments immediately if she were to have an attack because I don't have electric, We braved this 17 degree weather that we just had a taste of, I did the best I could to keep us warm with our body heat and coats to sleep in and keep warm. The association is fully aware of my circumstances, and they can go home to their warm house and fed families and lay their heads down knowing that there is a homeowner who minds her business doesn't cause problems and is super quiet with children to have to live this way. I am a single mother I am barely just making it, and not eligible for assistance because according to their sliding scale I make over the amount that qualifies for aide. Great! BEWARE OF BUYING INTO A COMMUNITY/ ASSOCIATION. Cases like this, the homeowner SUFFERS severely and I am suffering till this day having to live like this, taking a huge risk to rush my daughter to buffalo wild wings at anytime and using their outside outlet to run the nebulizer machine and get her lungs to open up. I say I have to run up to Buffalo Wild Wings, because I used the outside common way outlet for a nebulizer treatment 2am in the morning and well, a neighbor that lives in the front of Hadleigh Ln reported that I was stealing electric triggering the associations lawyer to write a letter about the wiring issue and also making the brief remark that it was reported of my improper use of this outside common outlet and they are going to further their investigation of my improper conduct. I say this, I'd rather go to jail giving my daughter emergency treatment to save her life, however I now have to take her to Buffalo Wild Wings and plug into their outside outlet. I cannot wait to get out of there some day, however we have to live like this in the meantime. The association left this case out to dry and I am financially strapped to muster up another 600 to get the wiring that was messed up initially. STAY AWAY FROM GOVERNOR'S POINT I&II, THEY ARE THE SAME ASSOCIATION that run things exactly the same! ... more

I wouldn't pay anything for the report. But you might ask if they're willing to share the report... or maybe they can just tell you what the issues were that they found in the report that caused them to cancel the transaction. ... more
