Read what parents are saying about Browns PointTerrible support from school staff when your child needs help. Several of the teachers here are beyond expiration date and need to retire. The way that they talk to the students is beyond belief. Do they get monitored or reviewed?? This school brags about being so great but it’s all fluff. The bully pledge is a joke!! Kids get picked on and even beat up often. There aren’t resources for kids that are on level so they’re sent to the halls. This school has a reputation for being clicky and it is. If you don’t conform to everyone’s beliefs you will be judged. The PTA raises money but where does it go? What has my child benefited from? What a joke!!! Safety has been a concern because the school does not communicate when there have been safety concerns at the school in the past. I do not recommend this school if you want to feel welcomed or you want to see your child thrive.
Posted by a parent on 3/30/2024In my experience, parents with a student of color really have to advocate. There's a misconception that all of the minority students are "choice in" students and you can tell. I felt like I had to advocate for my student's advanced status to be taken seriously. Only at the end of the year was my student given some work that challenged them. I get that they couldn't take my word for my kid's academic prowess but they didn't even investigate. Half way through the year all of sudden they seemed shocked by what I'd been staying all along. The ancillary teachers and staff were awesome but I didn't love my student's general education experience. I also felt the principal was aloof and unapproachable. My student had a teacher who was a veteran teacher and just didn't seem to care or seemed distracted. I felt like many of my concerns were met with a smile but fell on deaf ears. Name wise this school has clout but I didn't feel like the experience was superior.
Posted by a parent on 8/1/2023The amount of choice in students at this school blows my mind. We bought into this neighborhood specifically to go to Browns Point Elementary. The student per teacher ratio is very large. The quality of education given to the students that are actually in this zoned school isn’t considered and are paying the price for there not being a stricter cut off. There is no room and the school. Every inch of it feels at capacity.
Posted by a parent on 11/5/2022I would not recommend this school to anyone save for wealthy white families with non disabled learners. The principal is a teacher's union shill and she doesn't care about the kids at all; rather, the preferences and conveniences are prioritized above learning outcomes and making children feel welcome. I would not choose to move to this district again given the horrendous leadership and entitled teachers infecting this school.
Posted by a parent on 9/9/2022This school has spiraled into being subpar at best. The principal only cares for the families who are wealthy and have influence in her world. The teachers are mean to kids and then try to hide it under a fake pretense of being interested in the children’s progress. My child has learning differences and needed support and during the pandemic they refused to make any kind of accommodations and got rid of the things we did have before that were helping. My child showed not only lack of progress but regression and this school did everything they could to avoid educating. They just let students who need help struggle with no support. The leadership is geared to promote the kids who are already successful so they can keep their ratings and their scores but if you have a child who needs anything look out because they will not help and then try to run off your family. This school is not neurodiverse and also not a culturally or economically diverse population at all, just mostly wealthy Caucasian people. And that’s exactly how they want to keep it.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey are teaching the children about being pansexual, transgender and non-binary. Then they teach them the made-up pronouns as they're telling the children there are more than two genders. Why are they perpetrating these lies? Why are the schools pushing propaganda and sexual topics? These teachers should be arrested for talking sexually to the students. You wouldn't let your next door neighbor talk to your children this way. These teachers should have to register as sex offenders. Then the principal, who I spoke to, lied and said they're not being taught these things.Parent Review1y ago - Green Gables Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe ECAEP program is amazing. That team truly cares about the students and pushes for family engagement. We've been so happy with our experience so far. I also love the resource coordinator at the school. She is so knowledgeable and really tries to help bridge a gap for families. We've had a great experience at this school. My student misses school when there are breaks. I love that.My only caveat is that I don't think they challenge the students academically enough.Parent Review8mo ago - First Presbyterian Church School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStudents at Seabury are excited about the books they are reading, neat facts they have learned, and the questions they ask. They are encouraged to think critically and learn skills to pursue independent learning. They work together, learn to advocate for their needs, and benefit from small class sizes.Other Review3mo ago - St. Patrick Catholic School

My daughter is just finishing her fourth year at Saint Pat's and I couldn't be more proud of the wonderful young lady she is becoming. She continues to advance so much in her education skillset. I am so impressed in how much she has learned. She loves her school, classmates and teachers. We are so excited to be adding a new member to the Saint Pat's community next year. Thank you all for your handwork and dedication to the students.Parent Review1y ago
