Read what parents are saying about The Overlake SchoolI came to Overlake as a 6th grader, now I am an incoming 7th grader.Pros:-Sports program--I had a lot of fun-Arts program--Choir and Drama was great-Diversity and inclusion--the school tries it's best when it comes to diversity. There are Asian American Pacific Islander affinity, South Asian affinity, Anti-Racist White affinity, Jewish affinity, Christian affinity, Muslim affinity, LGBTQIA+ affinity, and more.-PE--is much more fun than my old school-The Campus--it's really large and spacious, making students exercise just to get to class-Language course--great, but only as learning the language for the first time. Some of my Chinese speaking classmates chose Mandarin, and they were really bored.-Class size--usually 16 kids per class (my Mandarin class had 9 kids and PE has various class sizes)Cons:-6th grade math program--the application test was harder than the class-Teachers care too much about fun-Too many "off" daysSummary:Good school, but as an Academics focused child, I prefer a better curriculum. This school may be good for 94-97 percentile children, but as a 99 percentile kid, I want to have a harder program.
Posted by a student on 7/3/2023This is a great school. The academics are top notch and someone coming from a public school will have to work extra hard to keep up. However, the teachers are always there to help you and support you. They offer after school hours which is great way to get the help your child needs. The sports and clubs are wonderful and there is something for everyone. Its a small school, so everyone knows everyone and the teachers and students are really warm and welcoming. You instantly feel like you belong to the school community. I would highly recommend this school to everyone. Its totally worth the price tag.
Posted by a community member on 10/6/2016Small classes. Everyone knows everyone. Academic is a focus area but then so are other activities. A bit of let down is folks with excessive money can get into this school and bring the overall quality a bit down. Though it is these Richie Rich's funds that help some of the lesser affordable families with smart kids to attend a high quality school like this one..
Posted by a parent on 5/19/2016I think it is a big rip off. Bellevue school distrcit and surrounding areas on the eastside have fabulous schools. It is about status. They do not get to know the other kids in their neighborhood like all the others. They also have an attitude like they are better than kids that go to public school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two kids who went / currently going to Sammamish Montessori School. Specifically both of my kids were / are involved in the STEAM and Montessori classrooms and they ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!The school curriculum is very innovative, educational and creative, the teachers are absolutely wonderful and passionate, and the supporting staff and administrators are always there to help answer any questions. As parents of younger kids, we strive to find the safest and warmest place to ensure our kids grow up happy, healthy and curious. This school continues to amaze us with the various activities (field trips!) their inclusiveness of different cultures (celebration of Harvest and Diwali) and inspirational teaching methods that make learning fun! (In regular and after school activities) We would absolutely recommend this school to anyone who wants a fun, safe and inspiring learning environments for their kids!Parent Review5mo ago - The Bear Creek School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur kids have attended Bear Creek since Preschool and Kindergarten, and our experience has been excellent. The teachers truly care about their students and that makes all the difference in the classroom. Teachers are also willing to work with parents to help kids grow academically and socially. Our family appreciates that faith is woven into all subjects. We wholeheartedly recommend Bear Creek!Parent Review4mo ago - Cedar Crest Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son graduated from Kindergarten after spending 2 years at CCA Redmond this year. We moved him to CCA from a great daycare nearby, to increase his focus on academics. While that goal was more than achieved, the overall package with all the extra curricular and social activities that he got a chance to participate in, has just blown us away! Kindergarten highlights included: he got to perform on stage in two very well put together productions and really enjoyed the experience of learning dancing with his classmates. He has worked ~5 monthly projects that culminate in poster presentations that have given him confidence and taught him the basics of researching different topics and presenting them to an audience. Apart from that, we got daily and weekly insights and quarterly progress reports on the work the teachers were doing with him without having to ask.The teachers and staff have been fantastic throughout our time with them. From the care they provided in helping get our son settled in, to the regular interaction and feedback from them on his strengths and improvement areas. We couldn't really have asked for better support! Highly recommend this school!Parent Review10mo ago
