Many of the teachers in this school district are absolutely wonderful and changed my life for the better. Overall, though, it's a hard place to get a good education, especially if your child is in any way different from the norm. The school offers relatively few AP courses, actively discourages students from applying to out-of-state colleges, and keeps changing the science curriculum as fundamentalist parents fight the school board about whether the textbooks can mention evolution. Administrators are very quick to hand out harsh punishments for minor rule-breaking, and the school's basic approach to students with behavioral/emotional disabilities is "act normal or get out." That said, it is a safe environment with a lot of good extracurricular opportunities.

Wonderful! My kid is very happy here. Love the smaller size of this school. Kids aren’t “lost” as easily.

This was a horrible school. I was a transfer from the FWSD this school only cared about image and not being effective. Didn't care if students were prepared for college. Maybe 5-10% were ready for college life in each class. Luckily I was prepared before transferring.

If you're new here it's hard trying to make friends since everybody is in some sort of clique i've seen it happen quite often. some teachers are amazing meanwhile others are biased

PROS: -Somewhat welcoming to new students. If you're sitting alone chances are someone will come up to you and invite you over. -Special needs kids aren't bullied. The other kids treat them pretty nicely. -There's not a lot of drug/alcohol/tobacco use, beyond what's normal for kids that age. -Very few fights. Well, chances are there'll be none during the years that any given student attends. -The teachers and staff are nice. CONS: -It's quite true that there are a lot of cliques. But, everyone acts civil so it's okay. -They're really into school spirit. Could be your kind of thing, though. -Not a lot of healthy snack options from the vending machines and cafeteria. -Seating arrangements in the cafeteria are unsatisfactory. -There are few choices for AP classes and other electives. Overall, it's an okay school.
