Read what parents are saying about Federal Way Senior High SchoolFirst of all, this school has always been student-friendly. It has welcomed us with both arms and made us feel that this is our second home. In fact, we have spend more time here than in our homes during our waking hours. And each day we carried home to our parents and brothers and sisters some story that became part and parcel of our lives; didn’t we? That is why I love my school and so is it why you do too.Secondly, this school has always had excellent teachers. They have been good in their knowledge; but beyond that they have been truly great in treating each one of us with dignity. They have helped us see our hidden potential and encouraged us at every turn. They have sacrificed much personal comfort to give us a vision and a dream about our bright future. To borrow words from Henry Van Dyke, let me promise you my dear teachers that for all the sparks you ingited in us; some day we will shine a light back on you. Yes dear teachers, even when years roll by we cannot forget you. Even though we may not be coming back to be in daily touch with you; our hearts will always have in it a place for you filled with gratitude. Dear teachers, you are the reason why I love my school with all my heart. Finally, I love my school for all the values that it has taught me. Discipline, integrity, sportsmanship, pursuit of excellence, compassion to people, unwavering optimism and hope, and much more came to me from this institution. They were not only taught but it has been integrated into the very culture of this school. We go from here not just having bookish knowledge but as well-rounded personalities with excellence of character. Thus my school has truly served the purpose of education. For these invaluable contributions, I love my school and I am sure you too share the same.My dear friends, my heart is sad at this time of parting. Along with you, I too say goodbye to this beautiful campus, the classrooms, the playgrounds. A few days from now the band that plays, the morning assemblies, the chit chat during the breaks, the festive arts and literary competitions, science exhibitions, talents day, and the like will not be ours. But life moves on. We move out to let another set of youngsters take over. But nothing will change the love I have for my school. Thank you.
Posted by a student on 9/13/2022I am a graduate of this school, and am still involved in a volunteer capacity. This school is amazing, and has one of the most diverse student bodies I have seen, coupled with a very caring and stable staff. The result is a melting pot. The standard classes can be a bit rough, but that's to be expected of large schools in poorer areas. It makes up for it by offering programs like AVID- for people of color and Cambridge or AP- for high achievers- to help get kids the best education possible. The school also has wonderful sports, and still offers shop, home ec, etc. Overall, this is a wonderful school, with a caring faculty, and helped get my brother and I into top universities and propelled into solid careers. We couldn't ask for more.
Posted by a community member on 4/9/2021My daughter just started here for her freshman year. I could not hear better things about this school. Her grades are fantastic which is a complete change from middle school. The kids there are very accepting, even to kids with disabilities, it warms my heart. My daughters class has been a rough bunch but they all hate trump & so do the teachers, this generation will take over someday. It gives me much hope. Oh & theres also a huge rainbow flag hanging when you walk in. I'm very happy with my freshman daughter attending & upcoming freshman son going here next year. Keep up the good work FWHS! Proud parent of 2 great teenagers & very proud of all these fantastic teachers here at FWHS.
Posted by a parent on 2/1/2019This school is excellent in many ways. It has the number one Boys Basketball team in the state, top teams in countless other sports, the top Speech&Debate team in the state, one of the top choirs, a strong robotics organization, a well-organized and led ASB, it is an AVID demonstration school, and over 80 different activities that students can join. Aside from the great activities, it is one of the only high school in WA to offer the Cambridge International program and its diploma to students. The teachers have an average top rating in all ways. It is also the 7th most diverse High School in the United States, and everyone benefits from an open, accepting, incredibly diverse environment. An excellent place.
Posted by a student on 2/11/2016I love this school! I'm glad they're finally rebuilding it! The campus is going to look amazing! All of there sports teams are amazing and they faculty is so friendly. I don't understand why people think it has such a high crime rate because it doesn't! Everyone fits in, nobody is left out! This school is amazing! Go Eagles!

As a result, I am not confident that student safety is a priority with the school administration.Parent Review1y ago - Lake Grove Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter started K in a different school in a nearby area (Normandy Park). This school BY FAR does way more for their students than her school in Normandy Park did; and that is saying a lot considering how expensive that area is…My daughter is going into 4th grade and has had amazing teachers each year she’s been at Wildwood. Even the office staff has taken the time to get to know her and our family. I also love that they offer free breakfast / lunch for all students and genuinely care. My youngest will be going into Pre-K at Wildwood next year and when we took my older daughter to get summer reading books the office staff went out of their way to also get some age appropriate books to give my future Wildcat. I don’t understand why the school rating is so poor, and honestly it is pretty offensive. This school is beautiful and the entire staff is amazing. I can’t thank them enough!Parent Review2y ago - Internet Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two elementary age kids have attended here for two school years so far and have done well. There has been an increase in enrollment since the pandemic began, so there is some adjusting that has had to be done by the administrators to accommodate this influx in student headcount. My kids seem to get higher quality time in smaller bursts with their teachers than they had in a brick and mortar school setting previously. They feel safe, valued, included and have been able to participate in weekly club meetings to help offset the to-be-expected lack of friendship forming opportunities inherent in a wholly virtual learning environment. Would absolutely recommend.Parent Review2y ago - St Lukes Preschool and Kindergarten
