Ayer Shirley Regional Middle School

I have had nothing but a stellar experience with this school. They have the tools and resources in place to allow my child and all children to thrive. This is not to say that the kids don't need to do their part too, they do. As with everything, if the parents support the kids academically, and the kids apply themselves they thrive and do well!

The school building itself is quite new and very well maintained. I've been in school districts before that had low funding and didn't make schools a priority but I'm very happy with the funding of the Ayer Shirley School district. My son completed three years at this school and had a great experience. He had opportunities to develop academically and many other ways. He participated in band, theater, soccer, history club and chorus. All of the teachers that led his extracurricular activities were wonderful!

My daughter is in 7th grade and loves this school. She participates in robotics, student council and other after school activities. She is looking forward to learning french & spanish.

This school is fantastic! This school doesn't teach to the tests like so many of the highly rated schools; it actually teaches kids to learn. The daily enrichment class lets the students pursue their own interests and work on skills that need improving. It teaches beyond the regular school curriculum to skills kids what really need to learn to be successful in life.

This school has more than surpassed my expectations. My child has been to some of the best public schools in the country so we were very concerned when we came to this school system. The staff here is caring, engaging, and intelligent. They are readily available for communication and want to help each student to be their best. The enrichment class period is one of the best and most unique things about this curriculum. The children get to pursue academic studies that interest them every day to keep them enthusiastic about school. I was concerned about the 6-day rotating schedule, but love it; it keeps the schedule fresh and reduces boredom. I also appreciate that, although there is no G&T program, they do have ability leveling and provide advanced curriculum programming. The school district is new and building their resources. Give them a chance and you will not be disappointed.
