French Immersion School Of Washington

We are a bilingual family who moved to Bellevue from abroad, where my children attended bilingual kindergarten. We found this school welcoming, and diverse and we value a strong academic focus. We love nurturing environment with attention to culture, heritage, geography, arts as well as science. Having small-size classes and learning concepts using both American and French methods is definitely a plus. As a parent who does not speak French but is raising trilingual future citizens of the world, it's important to know that my children learn to be curious, openminded and they learn to love learning about cultures and new languages. We love the community and how diverse and international it is. We made friends for life we hope with some members of the community. I would recommend this school any time. We will be starting our fifth year in September 2022.

We had a wonderful experience at the FISW for our 2 kids and we highly recommend it ! They spent 5 years at the FISW, during our relocation in the Seattle area. The teachers are very professional (follow the french and English curriculums) and are very child centered. Our kids have been very happy to go to school every morning during those 5 years!! They made good friends in the FISW community. They learnt English very well and maintained their french level at the same time. They have been selected to join a bilingual program next year in Paris. Thank you to the whole FISW dedicated staff! We will miss you A LOT.

As a parent, I couldn't be happier. My kids love going to school, and the bilingual education has been so rewarding for all of us. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for high-quality teaching, a small, close-knit community, and a place where children will have the chance to blossom and thrive.

Fantastic and life changing for our family! We love FISW! We started our son in Petits when he was 3 and now at age 8 he’s happy at school, speaks French beautifully and has long lasting relationships with his peers and teachers.

My family has been a member of the FISW community for 8 years and could not be happier to be part of this school. Everyone from the Head of School, teachers and staff are world class in how they do their jobs and teach our children. My wife and I also love the community the school has created. It is diverse, warm and welcoming at all levels and we have made life long friendships with other families. I wholeheartedly recommend this school to anyone, not just for their fantastic bi-lingual program but also for the quality and care put into everything the school does. The administration is thoughtful, the lessons are engaging and creative, and the teachers are top shelf. Additionally, the Head of School is amazing! Not only is she warm and welcoming, she takes the time to listen to any concerns (from parents and students) and addresses them in a real time fashion. The time and effort she has invested into the school has elevated FISW to probably the best French Immersion program in the area. The student body and their families are so privileged to be a part of this school and community. Even though our family does not speak French, our daughters’ French is fantastic and they have developed a life long love of language.
