Read what parents are saying about Ivy League AcademyBoth of my children attended Ivy League Academy. This school provides a solid educational foundation and a wonderful spiritual environment. I have recommended Ivy League Academy to my friends and they have sent there children there. I highly recommend this school!!
Posted by a parent on 8/18/2014This is a great school. I love that they teach my daughter pride in her country and respect for God. All while giving her the best academic foundation to continue her education. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone.
Posted by a parent on 1/26/2012I love this school. When my daughter went into the school for the first time she fell in love with the teachers and the administrators. In my opinion the curriculum is wonderful and the people running the school are first rate.
Posted by a parent on 12/24/2011I feel that it is a good academic school and my sons teacher Miss Woodson is great, however the principal/director is rude and has no people skills. He talks to you like hes doing you a favor by letting your child attend his school. My son will not be attending this school next year. He will be attending Atlantic Shores.
Posted by a parent on 3/17/2011I have put two reviews on this site but not posted -why? and that was what I really experience my time here at this Academy and it wasn't that postive to me , that the principal had pushed me.This is crazy that this Academy is so perfect when it's not. It's like these review is too good to be true! In reality it is.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt pains me to write a negative review of Hermitage as I know there are still a few good teachers and administrators here. However, turnover- transfers (to other schools in the city)- burnout- individual teacher political differences- heavy reliance on tech/screen time, etc have all taken their toll on the classroom learning experience. Hermitage does what it needs to do to check the boxes for the city's interests and for the state's SOLs (Standards of Learning), but not much else from what it would appear. Also, communication with parents as to their child's progress or about any classroom incidents (both of a positive or negative nature) also seems to be discouraged practice. Some of these issues are probably universal across the city, but with Hermitage's higher than average transient student population (due to the nexus between military base proximity & affordable housing), this provides the sense that maintaining consistency and fostering parent engagement is a lower than average priority.Parent Review1mo ago - Luxford Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this elementary school. I had a fantastic experience here and I have other family members that attend here that would say the same. The teachers truly care about their students well-being, education, and social-emotional health. I remember always being excited for what I was learning and had an enjoyable experience here. I never had a bad experience with a teacher, they were all great. There has never been a bullying issue here, I always felt safe, and parents were always in contact with the teacher and engaged with their students education. I highly recommend this school.Other Review9mo ago - Pembroke Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile it has been difficult for schools to figure out how to come back stronger and better after the pandemic Thalia Elementary has done it! They deal with the behavioral problems that were exasperated by the mandated closure and virtual schooling and really put their heart and soul into teaching our kiddos. My kids have had a great education at this school. Each teacher, specialist and admin is there for the right reason and teach with their hearts everyday. We have been blessed to be at this school.Parent Review11mo ago - Thoroughgood Elementary School
