Posted by a parent on 7/7/2015This school stinks if you have kids in need of special help. No child should be left begging for a 504 plan when it is so blatantly obvious a child has a learning disability.
Posted by a parent on 4/10/2014I'm a junior at Courtland High School and I have to say that I enjoy it more every year. The fine arts program is amazing and fun and the academic side of school isn't too bad either. Yes I've had bad teachers, but there are also many fantastic teachers who truly care about each and every student. It's a pretty diverse school in terms of behavior where half the kids are well behaved, while the other half are loud, obnoxious potheads! Overall I love my school and I can tell that most others do too by how much school spirit we have. Go cougars!
Posted by a student on 9/3/2012I graduated from Courtland in 2008 and I had a wonderful experience. I remain in touch with many teachers that all positively impacted my life. One negative is the math program, but the english teachers are wonderful and Mr. Helsley of the chemistry department can't be beat!

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe bullying culture in this school is still going strong. Talking to staff does nothing. Promises are made to “ keep an eye on the situation “. Then incidents are ignored. Classes are disrupted daily as teachers cannot control the students. Often the bullied child is made to feel they do not matter. Crying and begging not to go to school has become our daily routine. The playground supervision is nonexistent. Staff tends to huddle off to the side not paying attention to what’s happening or worse ignoring. The problem starts at the top. Are the teachers being supported by administrators?
