Mary Passage Middle School

My grandson is in the third grade at Dutrow Elementary School He has been bullied each year and no adult in the school has addressed this matter. He’s not a fighter. He’s a good kid. He’s been hit ; kicked and his food has been taken by other students at lunch time. Another child.felt his butt this week. Where are the teachers ? Who is supervising the kids? No adult has ever intervened. Either they are blind or they don’t care or they are just truly incompetent. I don’t think he is safe at Dutrow Elementary School. He’s been injured on the playground while the teachers stand around and chat with each other rather than supervise the students. Newport News schools are in decline. Dutrow have had some awful principals. We are now considering private schools and we should not have to do this.

My sons went here and we had nothing but issues. One of my children almost died in their care and they didn’t even issue an apology or check on him for two weeks. My other child was suspended after being assaulted even though the video shows he didn’t start the fight. If you can don’t send your kids here!!

The staff is not decent when it comes to talking to parents or fixing a problem they are just rude and have no manners!

My child’s first year participating in person. She did virtual learning for preschool the year prior. I was nervous as to how she would adjust. Her teacher and staff made the transition so easy for her and now she loves school! I absolutely love how comfortable they have made my daughter and myself feel. I know my daughter is getting a great experience at Sanford. She scored amazing in her exams but also has made tremendous progress. I am so thankful for her amazing teacher.

So I am at the school now it's horrible my teacher is very mean people there are mean don't send your child to the school horrible horrible school like my teacher she doesn't grade work how she's supposed to like she's very mean she talks to the students badly and my bus driver she is horrible she said the S word on the bus to the kids bathroom smells horrible
