Read what parents are saying about Armstrong Elementary SchoolArmstrong is the best of the best. We are a military family and this is the 5th elementary school for us. At our previous duty station we were in a top rated school in the state. In my opinion Armstrong has blown that school out of the water. This is also the second Hampton school my kids have been to and it's a night and day difference. Armstrong is the school that keeps parents in the loop of situations, they want to see the kids do great things, and Mrs. Rogers(principal) is going to try her hardest to know every student by name, if she doesn't already. I can't say enough great things about this school.
Posted by a parent on 10/17/2019We have had a wonderful experience at Armstrong. Our differently abled children were treated with respect and care. They are challenged academically but never set to fail. They have grown leaps and bounds thanks to the dedicated staff at this school.
Posted by a parent on 11/19/2018Leadership is terrible. Kids constantly coming home crying. This is not normal.
Posted by a parent on 9/11/2018Absolutely adore this wonderful school! The leadership is warm, energetic, friendly, helpful, and positive and the teachers care so much for their students. We have had the BEST experience at Armstrong. We are a military family and I wish that I could bring this school with us on our upcoming move! Love the way they incorporate the arts into everything they do and the creativity and engagement is off the charts. The strength and character of this school shows on every level.
Posted by a parent on 3/13/2018Military family with a daughter who attended Armstrong Elementary for two years. Our kids attended coveted York County Schools during previous assignment, and while both are great choices, we've had a better relationship with the teachers and administrators at Armstrong. My daughter feels supported and encouraged, and everyone's been committed to her success.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere's been many complaints about this school. Some of the staff has been replaced the assistant principal was let go. But some of the staff that was a part of the problem is still there along with the principal. The staff is very mean they're very mean to the children. They let the children fight the principal does nothing. Which her emails are being intercepted by the new assistant principal. Some of the teachers yell at the students, there's beef and dislike among the staff so you know who already is running it , my two daughters have seen this over the years but not anymore. I'm with drawing them from the school. Their friends also go to the school and know that the staff is very. the lunch lady even told my daughter to clean up her mess on the floor. What a horrible School don't send your kids there many parents have already left already.Parent Review6mo ago - Barron Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible. They have mold everywhere. My children come home not feeling good every day . For new students going here it is going to be stressful to find your class . It is a big school and the bullying is horrible . I’m never putting my kids in this school again and I suggest that you do not . DO BETTER HAMPTON CITY SCHOOLSParent Review1mo ago - Rhema Christian Center Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had a great experience at SMSS so far in our first year here! We felt very welcomed right away and the teachers took the time to get to know our children. I feel that we can bring up any issues or concerns easily. Love the small class sizes, extracurricular activities offered and the waterfront classroom! The school feels like a big family.Parent Review4y ago
