Posted by a parent on 7/9/2022You can succeed if you want to. This school offers high-level courses and rigorous classes, although many students do not challenge themselves. Great facilitcies as well. Much better than other schools in the nearby area. Remember the Titans!
Posted by a parent on 5/10/2022I made the massive mistake of sending my daughter to this school: poor teaching and counseling In unsafe environments.
Posted by a parent on 4/24/2022On July 1, 2021, TC Williams will be renamed Alexandria City High School. The college track at this school produces students and athletes of the highest caliber. Go see the students, the educators and the resources. You will be impressed.
Posted by a parent on 5/27/2021The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria awarded $504,000 in college scholarships to 181 TCWilliams graduating seniors from the class of 2020. Schools where they are headed include Princeton, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Spelman College, UVA, VA Tech, William and Mary, etc.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to this neighborhood specifically to attend Charles Barrett and we couldn't be happier about it. CBES is such a special school. The teachers go out of their way to communicate with parents and the kids feel supported and cared for. The integration of the arts makes learning fun and exciting. Also, having an after school program in the adjacent Rec Center is a lifesaver.Parent Review1y ago - Douglas Macarthur Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is focused on the lowest performing students. If your child is average or above average then you can expect that their day will be filled with worksheets. The staff also don't work together well. Students aren't grouped for instruction at their. The classroom instruction is what the lowest students are able to do.Parent Review2y ago - George Mason Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter is in 2nd grade and has attended MVCS since Kindergarten. All her teachers have been wonderful -- attentive to her and responsive to any concerns we have. The dual language program was difficult in virtual school but she is accelerating again now that they have been back in person full time this year. We speak English at home, but multiple native Spanish speakers have commented to me that her accent is incredible. The early grades so far have not focused on homework, which we love -- kids receive books to read and are encouraged to do math activities, but no formal homework is assigned. Our daughter tests well, reflecting the great teachers at this school. MVCS has particularly focused on Social Emotional learning since the pandemic started, and the kids have a lot of tools for recognizing and regulation emotions, particularly stress. We hope this focus remains in place for the long run, as we really like it.Parent Review2y ago - Abingdon Elementary School
