Read what parents are saying about Page Middle Schoolchanged my life forever, and for the worse!
Posted by a community member on 9/14/2017I went online, to see the reviews on this school after my son mentioned something about one of his friends getting bullied. I noticed that the bullying, has been going on for years, there was even a suicide at this school 2002, due to bullying and still nothing has been done about it. If the school isn't going to do anything about it, then we as parents should. We need to talk to our kids about being bullied, and being a bully... maybe we can make a difference. Since the principal and staff, seem to over look this topic, and have been doing so for years.
Posted by a parent on 2/29/2016My daughter is a sixth grader here and she's was a very happy friendly always smiling, and willing to help where and who she could but ever since her second week at page she's been really, really depressed, she Cry's all the time shehas no interest in anything anymore . she has had several items stolen from her, she's been teased, bullied, beaten on. She's recently coming home written on with a sharpie marker all over her arms, hands, and face. Words that I'm embarrassed to say to my self. I've Congreve's with the principal, vice principal, counclors, teachers campus police, San Antonio police even other students and parents. And still nothing has been done . these kids have posted all kinds of things about my baby girl on the internet to embarrass her, but there all lies. Today she came home asking me if I knew anything or heard about the 13 year old girl that shot herself in the head on 10-04-02 in front of other students at page middle school.... Please help our children, lord I pray that nothing else happens to my daughter, please give her the strength that she needs to get passed this with out hurting herself... Where are the parents of these ...demon children!!!!!

Posted by a community member on 5/11/2014This is in response to "former student" dated 12/12/04. You rated the school at five stars because the "teachers teach very good" and "best school I ever been to". If your written language reflects what you were taught as well as your punctuation I think that proves the value of the education received at Page Middle School. Taking into consideration all the other things lacking at Page I believe the school rates zero stars and your rating of five just underlines the lack of knowledge received by the student at Page Middle School! Need further proof? Just read the posting dated 12/28/10; "gone better" "bulling". The second sentence is proof positive the students are not taught. A second or third grade student would be able to correct the sentence structure yet this was written by a person who may have been taught at Page from the sixth through eighth grade. If at some other school the teaching was on the same level as Page. Outrageous!

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal (Derrick Brown) does not care about the kids or the staff. He has forced 9 staff members to quit/transfer/retire since his arrival. What did it cost an already underfunded, underperforming school to have to recruit, hire and train all those replacements due to one mans toxic leadership? He makes kids who get in trouble sit in the front office all day with out having to do any work or learn. Douglass used to have great leaders who genuinely loved teaching and the students alike, and they used to be a TEA recognized school. Now they are unacceptable by TEA standards and have not met federal standards.Parent Review10y ago - Eloise Japhet Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Herff Elementary in the 1st and 2nd grades. I remember even at that age how kind and helpful the teachers were. It was a great school. There was a hardware store across the street. It had a candy case. I'd love going there to look at the candy and all of the hardware items they had. It was called People's Hardware. There was a restroom in each class behind the teachers desk. I would hold off going because I was shy and didn't want to face the class as I walked out of the restroom. My teachers name was Mrs Coker. A fine young lady at that time. Sorry for going on but I hear it remains a great school for the kids even today.Other Review10y ago - Highland Park Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent who does participate, my child and I have had really caring and enriching teachers. I wish that a few of the parents would instill more value on their children, a hand full of students are disrespectful to classmates and teachers. I feel that it is and undue stress and takes away from students who are doing well. Parents need to be involved. Parents should be held asccountable. It is the only way our students will continue positive growth. The staff is doing their part, all parents need to meet them half way, be involved, be accountable and raise the bar at home!Parent Review12y ago - Riverside Park El
