Read what parents are saying about Royse City High SchoolAbsolutely awful! Disengaged teachers, safety issues galore, horrible administration and leadership. I'd give zero stars if I could. My son will be a Junior, we are giving it one last quarter before we pull him out. Last chance. I'm concerned for him every day I drop him off.
Posted by a parent on 8/13/2023RCHS is mediocre at best, with very few good teachers, and horrible students. This school does not care about its students, staff, or families involved. I was heavily bullied this past school year, and was discouraged by staff to bring it up or file reports. The students bullying were allowed to continue without repercussions. The counselors are unhelpful at best, and victim-blaming at worst. Not to mention the teachers themselves. I had multiple assignments suddenly go “missing “ from a certain teacher after I had spoken out against him, and corrected misinformation. I had to get my parent involved to actually get him to “find” them again. I know of teachers that still work there that throw things when mad, pick on students, and even call them slurs. None of the incidents anybody reported were ever taken seriously.I am also disabled. I have a 504, and had to fight tooth and nail to get my teachers to respect it. RCHS believes that advanced students, regardless of what College Board and state policy says, should not be allowed to use 504s in classes. My family had to threaten involving TEA for RCHS staff to take us seriously. This school does not, and will not, care about your child’s safety. There were numerous gun threats this past year from students. We were told to keep quiet about them, and that it “wasn’t a big deal” because nobody got shot.Families were held at arms length in regards to communication with the school itself. My parent found out almost everything through me, since RCHS had such poor communication with families. The years I’ve been here have been some of the most traumatic experiences of my life. For your child’s sake, don’t send them here.

Posted by a parent on 5/23/2022RCHS has been a huge disappointment. Our son is a senior this year and we cannot wait for him to be out of this district. Everything in this school is about favorites. There are many issues with racism especially from students. Safety is a tremendous issue here.
Posted by a parent on 2/27/2022The main principal is the biggest bully out of them all! They do not handle bullying, they threaten the victims and blame them. They tell the victims not to tell anyone because they don't want the school's reputation to be ruined. They do not handle stressful or traumatic situations at all. They tell the students they're not allowed to grieve for lost classmates, or show concern for ill teachers, or feel scared when there's been a threat against the school. They're told over the intercom to shut up, and if they got talking about the situation they will get detention or suspended. Horrible school. My child needs therapy for the remainder of their life for all the damage this "school" has done. I haven't even talked about the education aspect yet. There is no help when these kids don't understand, they're just told to do the work. Assignments that I know my child turned in online, miraculously disappear? They pick favorites and pass them, and let the others drown.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot what I expected after being in an exemplary school district. Actually noticed that my child was not challenged in the classroom due to everyone else not being at the level as they were. I hate to think that Title I schools perform lower due to social status. There are no STEM programs in place. You have to wait until you are in middle school, I believe, before they are introduced to students.Parent Review5y ago - W R (Bill) Fort Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was just okay. I had two students in this school before I had to pull them out. My daughter was struggling and I requested that she be tested for dyslexia to which they denied saying that everything was fine. Now her pediatrician is having her tested and she has been diagnosed with dysgraphia and speech issues. I received zero help from her teacher, as well as all administrative staff involved. Would not recommend this school.Parent Review9y ago
