Imagine International Academy Of N

Currently a student in the high school program, been here since elementary school. Overall, this school will guide you SO much in academics and teach you the discipline to help you get better. When I mean discipline I mean stress. I used to be a D- student before coming here, but now receiving majority A's. But sadly that is the only advantage of this school, academics. The environment here is more competitive when it comes to academics, some students even cry in class due to receiving B's while their peers received a higher grade. Because of this, I've seen a lot of teachers assume your "worth" based on your grades rather than your character, sadly assuming you just "don't care.", kinda setting the standard that you must "prove yourself". Other than that, my grades have never been better. Don't recommend coming here if you want to do sports though, the sports teams and anything related to showing your creativity SUCK'S. This will be more like "college for kids" rather than your average HS experience, filled with countless sports and activities for your child. You wont even have the energy to attend any events anyways, if you plan on getting good grades, especially during summative week. Don't even think about telling the counselor about your stress/school problems, most of the time you will be referred back to your parents when most students want to talk about these factors without fear of exposure. But because everyone is kinda a coward when it comes to fighting and bullying, you will NEVER be bullied, or harassed without a reason. Bullying was never tolerated here if you get reported (you will most likely get suspended for a few days or even immediate expulsion IF REPORTED). I always felt safe in this school because of this.

I have two kids at this school and we have been there for 11 years now. I think giving this school a shot when we were chosen in the lottery was one of my finer parenting moves. Academically, it is challenging, but I know my oldest is 100% ready for college. Sending kids to school everyday is hard for a lot of parents but I feel they are safe, cared for and are learning more than their peers in public school. The parents care at this school and so do the teachers and faculty.

Both my daughters have attended Imagine since elementary school. We moved here because my oldest complained that teachers would call on her or include her in class discussions because she knew too much. She didn't want to go to school saying that all they did was take tests. They girls have thrived here in the project based learning environment and enjoy being around kids that want to learn. My oldest is graduating next year and has accomplished more than many college students. I highly recommend this school if you kids want to be challenged.

It is a wonderful school to work for and also for the students. A great family where everyone is willing to support and help when necessary.

Imagine is a unique school where you can find teachers and students who love to learn. The teachers respect the students and give them choices in their learning. It is very project based with students taking charge of their learning. It is a family like, multicultural environment. There are many unique experiences at Imagine including International Dress Day, Mother Tongue Day, Day of Service, and Todos Juntos. All of these experiences allow the children to be proud of their heritage and express themselves. At the end of the school year, the students lead a conference for their parents. All and all, Imagine is a great place to be.
