If you want your child in an unsafe troublesome environment this is the one for your child! My daughter is new to Marshall JH, in the seventh grade, and her third week of school she was beaten by an eighth grader while in gym class for no reason! She has always been a good student in all aspects of the word so it is very hard for both of us to begin to try to comprehend why this happened to her! The coach and the 7th grade assistant principal were very sympathetic and are trying to help us threw this as well as the campus officer but the main principal(I think that's who she is) never even came out of her office to assess anything just sd write a report and closed her door! This girl that assaulted my daughter is a known troublemaker and I feel like she shouldn't even be at the campus with the regular kids. This has really hurt me and most of all my daughter she feels very unsafe at this school and now I hve to take other measures to ensure my child's safety while she's trying to learn! I know the teachers can only do so much but this type of behavior starts at home! Kids can't raise themselves!!!!-A very aggravated mother!!Posted by a parent on 10/8/2015
It is very clear Marshall ISD has not taught their students how to read, wrtie, or spell. Just read the reviews by students.Posted by a parent on 8/9/2011

The teachers and staff are working very hard to make the junior high the best. The principal is working hard and spending long hours to help this school. The new paint is great, the laptops will help every 8th grader, and the teachers are highly qualified.Posted by a community member on 5/3/2010

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCrockett Elementary is a great school! Joanna Taylor, the principal, keeps close contact with her teachers and what they need for the students benefit. The children are our first priority and we want each child to succeed and grow to their greatest potential. Crockett would make any parent and their child, or children, proud.Teacher Review10y ago

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy grandchild went to Crockett last year and I was so shocked to see that the school was in bad shape. Myu grandchild is going to another school, Wm B. Travis and I was so impressed with the leadership. I am concerned with the way that students are picked up in the afternoon at the school because anyone could walk up and get a child. Hopefully, the school will see the concern of the parents in this area and will make it more safe for the students.Other Review7y ago

- Trinity Episcopal School
N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended Trinity for many years. I loved the family atmosphere but as far as the knowledge that was acquired, I felt more playtime took place than actual learning. I remember my child needing help in a subject and being told if you don't get it, you'll learn it next year. Also, one year he had an instructor that graded everything EXCELLENT! I don't think my kid or any other kid could do wrong, UNTIL you actually read the paper. If you took the time to read the assignments, checked the grammatical errors, spelling, punctuation and such, you would realize that the paper was not EXCELLENT at all. Sometimes the question and answer were not even on topic. When I talked to the teacher about it, she stammered and stuttered. That really didn't make me feel good as a parent knowing my child was getting what was needed for a good quality education, one that I was paying dearly for.Parent Review8y ago

- Marshall Christian Academy
N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a junior at Marshall Christian Academy, and I have been attending here since the fourth grade. I also plan to continue on and graduate through MCA. I love each teacher, administrator, and coach; as they have provided me with the teaching, discipline, and love I will continue to apply in all areas of my life. This school is very small, which allows: the teachers to work with the students one on one in any area they need help in (academically and personally); all students to know each other personally; and incredible concentration of teaching, wether it be academic or spiritual. The teachers and coaches genuinely love each student and care for each as if they were their own children. The academics far exceed that of any public school's. The selection of extra-curriculars are very minimal, but still provide the student body with experience in various fields that has already been proven to be beneficial in practical application in life. MCA's athletics are also of minimal selection, but the sports we do have, each team excels and each athlete improves drastically during the season. All coaches have been coaching for at least decade or more. They are not shy when it comes to sharing their wisdom, experience, and love of the game with each athlete. I have never met a more dedicated group of teachers or coaches who absolutely love doing what they do. I take pride in Marshall Christian Academy, and recommend to anyone looking for a solid Biblical and spiritual foundation, strong academic teachings, or even a family.Student Review4y ago
