My daughter did good until high school. One of her core subject teachers overloaded her classes with quizzes, tests, and assignments on Fridays when students didn't have much time. Students had to rush to complete packet work in other classes. Other teachers didn't take kindly to this and considered it off task instead of addressing the teacher. Holidays, and vacations were flooded with huge packets of work from a core teacher. The class day was paced with quality of work and not much teaching. My daughter would come home and learn it online from college videos. The hostile emotion in the class lead her to give up in that class. The negativity had an effect on other classes as we struggled to help her recover. My daughter was told she was lying about a diagnosis made by a doctor and an employee called her a liar because of something she thought she heard. She didn't verify and reduced my teenage daughter to tears. The same employee said my daughter was not smart enough to be at the school. Her mailed standardized results say at/above level. She got her first detention for uniform violation and was placed in an "old covid quarantine" room. There are covid notices of exposure that now have gone out. This school was great. I really did like the engineering teacher, the art teacher, "MrChoirMan", her middle school team was great, and her MS math teachers. Her MS math teach was firm, challenging and math was never communicated as a threat from her. While I am grateful to the majority of the teaching teams, the leadership, admin. And some teachers hinder progress, disingenuous, and do severe harm. Instead if looking back on great high school memories now have bigger problems to reconcile that were caused by employees that did not have our daughter's well being mind.

Positives: The microsized junior high is above average. The team of teachers communicate with you and are willing to learn/share what helps your child to improve. My daughter felt safe and became confident in the all girl academy . Her 7th and 8th grade math teacher was the same. Mrs. Smith was a firm, challenging but engaging teacher. She never used math as a threat and never sarcastically assured her students would be in summer school. My daughter excelled according to state exams and benchmark tests. Engineering teachers took it upon themselves to place her in their classes. She has done great under their instruction. She earned good grades and the engineering teacher has stayed in contact with us ever since. My daughter loved talking about schoolCons: I am not confident in the school's abiity to handle students with special needs. (I taught students in autism and special education for more than a decade.) While there are a ton of brilliant students in the district with special needs, there have been a few instructors in the past that demonstrated they feel students with special needs were a hinderance rather than a student that needed differenitiated instruction and adjusted disciplinary responses. Homework does come up missing/stolen from time to time. Take pictures of it via email. Emails have time stamps that can not be effected by outside interference. During virtual schooling, we had eliminated missing homework problems during digital uploads and could resolve problems with technical difficulties because of screen shots. Her grades did great during virtual.Although we have had great experiences with the majority of the faculty, staff & paraprofessionals, two instructors have caused so much damage to my daughter's mental health and her progress. Refusing to talk to us at the beginning of the grading cycle, placing zeros for ungraded accepted work instead of leaving the category blank, asking for hub assignments during professional development/vacation days, creating so much work that other teachers gave up their classtime to allow students to work on packets, finish same day classwork, and so many worksheets from one particular class that there was no down time when she came home. My daughter would be watching college professors and khan academy to fill in missing steps. The previous year my daughter was showing improvement and now I was told this year that she can not keep up and needs to be at another school. Noted. We are moving schools.

To be honest, I feel like I'm treated as a unit, a number in a factory of products. My experiences with the school has been great, however, there's only things that need to be improved... I feel as everyone is active but there's a piece missing.

I’ve had a great experience thus far. Teachers & administrators are open to feedback & making the necessary changes to help my student succeed. Success of every student is paramount to the teachers & all staff.

My overall experience has been depressing. I feel like a whole different person and not in a positive way. If I could go back and change high schools I would in a heart beat. The environment is negative and there is so much work, and not enough time for other things.
