Read what parents are saying about The Monarch SchoolAs someone who has worked my entire career with the special needs population and now a new special needs mom, Monarch is an ideal therapeutic and educational school for those with neurological differences. Students are happy and engaged in learning in a way that's gets them excited and ready to come back the next day. I can't think of a better place I want to send my daughter when the time comes for school placement.
Posted by a community member on 7/24/2023The school has changed significantly in the last several years. The best long term staff have left and it is no longer therapeutic or a strong educational environment. New staff have lower qualifications than the past. They focus on ABA, a behavioral management program that is considered abusive by many. It is rewards and punishment, no authentic intrinsic motivation or learning. The environment is dreary, sad and not a place that someone wants to spend the day. They have can't keep staff and typically hire first year teachers that don't even stick around. The tuition is not reflective of quality. It's behavior managed babysitting. There are better schools.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has come a long way in the last several years. It is now one that families from the local neighborhoods are applying to get into for the dual language program. The current principal has done a great job of building a positive and welcoming environment and the PTA is getting stronger every year. Our child is excelling and her teachers have been great at recognizing her needs and challenging her. Although currently limited by the pandemic, they regularly had community building events and movie nights previously (and hopefully again in the future). We love PSE!Parent Review2y ago - Spring Shadow Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe reviews on this site are pretty dated and it's time for an update. This school is an amazing hidden treasure. Every single person in this school - the principal, the teachers, the staff, the parents, the students, and the church as well - are the most welcoming, generous, open-hearted people you'll ever meet. The kids work hard but they thrive and it shows in their positive attitudes toward fellow classmates and adults alike. I have no doubt that my children are getting the best Christian education available. Try this school out, you will not be disappointed.Other Review8y ago - Greater Houston Adventist School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school is absolutely the worst school. i do not recommend it. as a former student, i believe that it is a very sexist school. boys get less advantages than girls and nothing about it is good. the bathrooms haven't had a renovation in years. there are no separators for the urinals. the bathroom stalls do not lock. sometimes the air conditioning is broken and it's not very good. it's just utterly as bad as it always was. there is also too much homework they give out. overall, do not go here.Other Review6mo ago
