Posted by a community member on 9/18/2017As a teacher, im terribly disappointed in what this school has the potential to accomplish. It has a high rate of teacher turnaround. Every year masses leave and more get hired since they do not know how to keep their teachers. They teach to a test and have the one size fits all mentality. Its also very micromanaged and thrives on favoritism.
Posted by a teacher on 12/7/2015literally the most awful and i mean most awful school, I am currently a junior attending. I just moved here from another city and i just started 3 weeks into the school here. My expectations were high but came out disappointed at the end. The teachers are terrible, they dont care about the students, they're not helpful whatsever. The staff and teachers are so rude in my opinion. The teachers just dont care and they move too quickly. I dont know. This school is just terrible. The teachers need a reality check. Cant wait to move back to my old school next year!

I have had children in this school for 2 years and have had issues with teachers and staff since the very start. Bullying is not dealt with effectively, and one oof the 2nd grade teachers is TERRIBLE and has no business teaching children of this age. And when my concerns are dismissed by the prinicipal, you know that they are not there to advocate for their students.Parent Review6y ago - North Shore Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child entered Galena Park ISD in 2012. I wasn't really happy with the current grade North Shore but after meeting her teacher (Mrs. Walding & Mrs Clements 4th) and seeing how they well they worked with my child to get her not only on level but above were she had to be for 5th grade...........i hope my child continues to get great instructors just like them. They were always willing to help and give extra work or offer websites if need to ensure my child understood. I also enjoyed to after school program ( 21st Century) Mrs. Valdez is doing great works with the kids exposing them to different activities. 2013-2014 5th grade year I had an issue with my child homeroom teacher professionalism and Mrs Esmeralda (the principal) / Mrs Perez made themselves very visible and it was handled immediately. I'm excited to see what's to come my child's 6th grade year at CobbParent Review9y ago - Tice Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWell, the principal made my child cry at open house because they had all the kids in the same room, my kindergarten son saw his best friend and wanted to play the games they were playing. The principal made my son burst into tears saying he couldnt play with his best friend because those games were only for ymca after school program. Who puts a bunch of games and toys out during a pta/open house and thinks it's okay to yell at children because they want to join in too? The Pta meeting was a joke, like ten parents were there. I love my son's teacher, but everything about the school is kind of ghetto. We moved and my son now goes to a different school in the Deer Park school district and the difference is like night and day. He is actually happy to go to school and is doing fantastic. This school is a joke, they also screamed at my husband saying he couldn't come inside on father take your son to school day. Worst school ever. The principal needs to be fired. And my son already knows all they are teaching him. Run away from this school, plus more than half of the children are limited in English and they also have low test scores. So happy we got a better house and can send my son to a school that cares and does not exclude children or make them cry/yell at them.Parent Review6y ago - Dr Shirley J Williamson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe only reason I gave this school 2 stars is because the principal is at least kind. The AP (Mitchell) is not a good leader overall. He is very judgmental and stereotypes automatically. He also will listen to the staff before he verifies issues with the child or the parent. Rude and very sarcastic is he. This year was my child's first year in a full day elementary and it has indeed been the worst. The Kindergarten class doesn't even get a graduation and when I asked earlier in the year they told me they weren't sure of the date. Absolutely unorganized. While they are a Galena Park ISD they have the mannerisms of a shutdown HISD school.Parent Review6y ago - Sam Houston Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe decision to enroll my son at CT Schools was one of the best decisions made concerning his education. The classes are small, so teachers are able to give one-on-one attention to the students. The staff is wonderful and concerned for each child's well being. The principal Faith Coble is wonderful leader and one of the kindest people you will ever meet.Parent Review9y ago
