Posted by a student on 6/5/2020Good school. Small classes. Teachers are very helpful
Posted by a student on 6/5/2020One of the best parts of Houston Heights has to be Jana Williams. As the senior advisor she helps students pursue their academic goals whether that be community college or a 4 year university.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe sense of community among students is great. And I really love that. I knock it down a star just because I feel teachers could be more engaged with parents on a one-on-one level to really hone in on how to make our kids flourish. I do understand that teachers are spread very thin, but I do feel like more attention to each student by means of the parents would help so much more. But it takes actually meeting with parents. We had a zoom session that was 15 minutes… and it seemed so forced for the teacher. No desire to connect with me, the parent. Again, this is my only gripe and teacher is still great to my little. All in all, it’s a wonderful school and I hope to keep my child here!Parent Review1y ago - Helms Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to love this school the previous principal was amazing Mrs.Perejon. I've had nothing but disappointing results and action from Mr. Gonzalez. My child has come home crying because a teacher makes her cry I've had went up to the school 3 times hes "never there" to ask to speak with him 3 meetings with assistant principal and teachers 4 phone calls and finally the last time I got a meeting with him to move my child to another class he finally agreed to do so. One week later she was still feeling intimated by her teacher called left a message and once again the assistant principal called me back saying it she would be moved asap school is about to end nothing has changed. This year has been the worst year so if you decide to put your kids here just hope you don't have any issues because they are obviously not about keeping their word or doing anything about it.Parent Review11mo ago - Love Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is an incredible school. There is gorgeous artwork throughout, there is a stunning outdoor garden where the children get to pull fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the earth! They learn outside. It is a wonderful community, and a historic building.Parent Review1y ago - Sinclair Elementary School
